A survey says, 85% of social media users are very addictive. They always check notifications on their mobile when they wake up, before doing their daily routines.
And we think we are using this for just ten minutes and some active internet users use nearly half the day during this lockdown time. And we don't realize wasting our time while using social media. So let's come to a point.
WHY SOCIAL MEDIA IS SO ADDICTIVE?
And in this article let's discuss how we can come out of internet addiction.
This is addictive because of facebook's business model on how they can ruin customers' time and trying to make people spend time in their apps as much as possible(ASAP). And it's also because of your habits, you are doing 40% of your daily works just because of your habits. and they use a concept for this addiction called the hook concept, and if any products were made of this hook technique the consumer's mind will automatically become addicted.
What is the hook technique in business?
And these apps use 4 phases for consumers

1.TRIGGER
How we need bikes to start our bike, this hook technique requires a trigger to target consumers, if you have a Facebook account you will get notifications every minute if any actions were done in your account and it will act as a reminder and even when you use to close Facebook it will show a red notification as that you will open Facebook immediately.

This trigger has two types one is an internal trigger and another is an external triggering.
External triggering:
This triggering is just made of logo logic and makes the target audience think they provide good service just by creating a good logo.
Internal triggering:
This internal triggering is so powerful than other methods by which Facebook uses and makes you addicted to their service.
When you take a photo you will just upload it on Facebook and you will feel emotionally good that your memories are sheltered.
2.ACTIONS
before, WhatsApp many messengers are available in the market. but think why WhatsApp so successful than other messengers, because of its simplicity. Other apps need login information every time you open your app but WhatsApp didn't. So that people can send messages easily and fast than others. Even you relate to other social made than Facebook has the best user experience.
3.UNLIMTED REWARD
Just think of having a locker that gives you unlimited reward whenever you open it. And if that was given to you, you will use it even nothing was there in search of any new rewards. but if rewards were given similar multiple times you will get bored and drop off using that product. And Facebook is very because just your simple scrolling action you will receive multiple rewards simply scrolling and that stimulates your multiple emotions by watching the video. With these multiple rewards, your brain stops thinking about how much time you spend on Facebook.
4.INVESTMENT
Did you think before why you spend money on games,?this includes a lot of business ideas, but the main reason is investing, investing doesn't mean only investing financially, when playing a game using your energy and efforts for ranking up and building your profile in the game is also an investment, which will not leave you and make you think not to lose your grade in that game and work continuously for your worthless game profiles.
Apart from ACTIONS, TRIGGER, REWARDS INVESTMENT phase will make you spend more on addictive social media.
